Which way should a skillion slope?
It depends on your home, the sun and the view. Sloping up and away from the house brings in more light; sloping away from a boundary helps with drainage. We look at your site and recommend the best direction.
Can a skillion be fixed to a wall?
Yes. Skillions can be mounted to a wall, fascia or freestanding posts, which makes them a good option for double-storey homes.
What roofing can I use on a skillion?
Steel sheeting, insulated panels and clear polycarbonate all work well on skillion patios.
Do I need council approval?
Most patios need a building permit, and some properties also need planning approval. We prepare the drawings and engineering and lodge everything for you.
How long does it take?
As a guide, allow about 2 weeks for drafting and engineering, around 4 weeks for the building permit (up to 3 months if planning approval is needed) and 2 to 4 weeks for materials to be made. We give you a timeline for your property when we quote.
