Gable Patios, Explained
A gable patio has a pitched, triangular roof that adds height and a real sense of space. Hot air rises into the peak and away from you, so the area stays more comfortable in summer.
Gables suit homes with a pitched roofline and make a striking feature over entertaining areas, alfrescos and pools. The open ends can be finished with decorative or solid infill panels for extra weather protection and privacy.

Gable Patios Questions
What is a gable infill?
The triangular end of a gable can be left open or filled with a panel. Infills add weather protection and privacy, and can be decorative or solid.
Do gable patios cost more than flat patios?
Usually a little more, because of the extra framing in the roof. Many homeowners find the extra height and airflow worth it. We can quote both for comparison.
Can a gable patio have clear roofing?
Yes. We can use steel sheeting, insulated panels or clear polycarbonate, or a combination, depending on how much light you want.
Do I need council approval?
Most patios need a building permit, and some properties also need planning approval. We prepare the drawings and engineering and lodge everything for you.
How long does it take?
As a guide, allow about 2 weeks for drafting and engineering, around 4 weeks for the building permit (up to 3 months if planning approval is needed) and 2 to 4 weeks for materials to be made. We give you a timeline for your property when we quote.
Do you guarantee your work?
Yes. Every patio comes with our lifetime workmanship guarantee, on top of the manufacturer's product warranties.
