A freestanding patio stands on its own posts and footings, away from the house. That means you can put shade exactly where you want it: by the pool, over an outdoor kitchen, in the garden or across a driveway.
Freestanding patios can be built in flat, skillion or gable styles, with steel, insulated or clear polycarbonate roofing, so they can match your home or become a feature in their own right.

Freestanding Patios Questions
Does a freestanding patio need footings?
Yes. Freestanding patios sit on engineered concrete footings sized for your patio and your site's wind rating.
Can I have lights and power on a freestanding patio?
Yes. An electrician can run power out to the patio for lights, fans or an outdoor kitchen. Insulated roofing gives a neat ceiling for fittings.
Can a freestanding patio be used as a carport?
Yes. Freestanding designs make practical carports and boat or caravan covers.
Do I need council approval?
Most patios need a building permit, and some properties also need planning approval. We prepare the drawings and engineering and lodge everything for you.
How long does it take?
As a guide, allow about 2 weeks for drafting and engineering, around 4 weeks for the building permit (up to 3 months if planning approval is needed) and 2 to 4 weeks for materials to be made. We give you a timeline for your property when we quote.
Do you guarantee your work?
Yes. Every patio comes with our lifetime workmanship guarantee, on top of the manufacturer's product warranties.
